PUPPY PURCHASE AGREEMENT

Upon placing your deposit on the puppy of your choice, you understand that the deposit is non-refundable unless your puppy becomes ill or dies while still in my possession. Your deposit may be applied towards another puppy. If there are no available littermates that you like, your deposit will be refunded within 2 weeks.

You, the buyer, will be given all health records and proper registration forms for the puppy. The puppy has been provided with the best care possible. Now, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to continue caring for this puppy in every aspect. Your puppy has been on a vaccination and worming schedule here and is up to date. These records will be provided to you. Please take these records to your veterinarian, as it is very important to continue with these vaccinations and worming after you get your puppy home.

You, the buyer, agree to insure your puppy’s good health and to keep our guarantee in effect by taking good care of the puppy and providing good food, housing, good medical care and a safe outside environment. As a responsible puppy owner, you must provide your puppy with routine preventative care, all immunizations, heartworm tests and preventative medications, and annual physical examinations by a licensed veterinarian. Please remember that your puppy is a family member, not just a pet.

For the protection of the purchaser and the seller, a licensed veterinarian should examine the puppy within 48 hours of taking possession of this puppy. If the veterinarian finds that the puppy has a life threatening hereditary condition, the puppy will be replaced with another puppy of equal value that is available, provided I am notified within 24 hours after the exam. Any ill puppy must be returned to me along with the registration papers within 24 hours, at no expense, with a signed document from your licensed Veterinarian stating the defect or problem. I am not responsible for veterinarian bills acquired by you, the buyer. If no puppies are available in the current litter, you will be notified of the next planned litter.

This contract is valid for the original buyer that purchased the dog from Stonehedge Bassets. If the dog is transferred to another owner, this contract is null and void. This contract is null and void if any of the terms and conditions is not fulfilled.

If a puppy is sold as a “breed quality“, there is no guarantee that it will be able to reproduce. There is no guarantee of the quality of puppies it may produce. Please research the Basset breed itself before attempting to start a breeding program. Breeding any dog can be and is a very time consuming process. It takes great planning and understanding of the breed to be successful.
